The City of Lincoln, Nebraska, hired us to repair a metal roof at the StarTran Bus Service building downtown.
The roof on this particular building was so large that it took us several weeks to complete the job. The city decided to hire us because we do large commercial roof recoating, spray foam, and waterproofing for any building, no matter the size.
The most challenging part about this roofing project was the roof's pitch. The metal roof on this building was so steep; we could not have our roofing contracting crew do the work standing on the top as we usually do. Our commercial roofing crew did the entire job using power equipment lifts. We have the commercial equipment available to do such a job.
We started by power washing the rooftop to prepare the roof coating system. Then we applied a rustproofing coating (a primer coating and waterproofing process) to all the roof panel seams. We also waterproofed all of the bolt holes and protrusions.
Our commercial roof sealing process will help stop all of the leaks in the metal roof. We sprayed a final topcoat of roof coating over the entire roof to complete the roof coating system in the last step.
The StarTran building is next to the police station and Nebraska State Capitol building, located in downtown Lincoln. The building is viewable from where everybody goes to watch the Nebraska Cornhusker football games.
