Northeast Nebraska Energy Systems, Inc. (NENES, Inc.) recently worked on a commercial roof in Pender, Nebraska. This roofing project was done for the United Church of Pender. They called us for a free commercial roof evaluation for a leak in the roof. During the evaluation it was clear to see that many things have been done to this roof, but none of it done correctly. After the evaluation of the roof, we decided that a proper Spray Polyurethane Foam Roof (SPF) Coating System was the best option for the church’s roof.

Spray polyurethane foam roofing is ideal for a wide range of commercial buildings. In roofing, SPF acts as a protective roofing layer, as well as an insulator, air barrier and a waterproofing solution. The cost-efficient system is sprayed along the roof and locks every portion of the roof into place.

The old spray polyurethane foam on the church’s roof needed to be scarified, so that when the new foam would be sprayed down there wouldn’t be any damaged foam underneath. Older, spray polyurethane foam roofs that haven't been properly maintained are in need of scarification. Scarifying is the process of cutting or planning off the surface of the spray polyurethane foam. It exposes the good foam, to be used as a base for a new layer of spray polyurethane foam and a new layer of acrylic coatings. This allows us to restore the roof to a condition that can withstand long-term sustainability. A restored spray polyurethane foam roof can last 30-40 years with proper maintenance.

Call N.E.N.E.S. Inc. to extend the life of your roof and the highest quality of products and professionals. Restoring a spray polyurethane foam roof eliminates the need for costly tear-off and dumping in landfills, which is not only better for you, but also better for the environment.
